2003 White Antiracism Convention

An exciting gathering of White leaders will take place on November 15 and 16, 2002, in New Orleans to begin planning a White Antiracist Convention in 2003. The Steering Committee and Advisory Council members are seeking about 50 antiracist Caucasians from around the country. This will be their initial planning meeting. Perhaps you know someone who would be interested in attending.

Both the 2003 White Antiracism Convention and the November 15-16, 2002 Planning meeting have been called by Jeff Hitchcock and a few national antiracists who have been active leaders in white antiracism gatherings over recent years. The national steering committee includes Ron Chisom, Diana Dunn and David Billings. An Advisory Council set up to guide the planning process, includes European Dissent members in New Orleans. Anyone interested in participating in this November 15-16 planning session will need to notify the staff at the People's Institute and register with Jeff Hitchcock directly. He can be reached by phone at 908-241-5439; fax: 908-245-4972; or by email:
jeffhitchcock@euroamerican.org.

The November event will take place at St. Marks Community Center located at 1130 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA. European Dissent says this is on the edge of the French Quarter with several inexpensive hotels and restaurants in the vicinity. Margery Freeman, of European Dissent, can assist travelers in locating lodging, or even homes for folks to stay in. Her email is freemannola@cox.net. Most meals will be included with the conference.

The itinerary is as follows:

Attendees are also invited to stay over until Tuesday so that they can join the European Dissent meeting on Monday evening, where Sharon Martinas will be talking about her Challenging White Supremacy work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
