The Pan African Roman Catholic Clergy Conference

The Pan African Roman Catholic Clergy Conference (PARCCC) and the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus (NBCCC) will be gathering all committed brothers in the struggle to convene a "conversation between brothers." This gathering of the PARCCC and NBCCC will take place at the Divine Word International Techny Towers Conference Center on August 27 - 29, 2002 in Techny, Illinois. The Techny Towers Conference Center is administered by the Society of the Divine Word and is only minutes away from the O'Hare Airport.
The agenda for this meeting is to plan and identify the issues of the 2003 International PARCC Conference. The title for this three-day event is, EACH ONE, REACH ONE and its goal is that each PARCCC and NBCCC member (African-American) brings a brother (priest, religious, seminarian) of African Descent (African, Afro-Latino, Afro-Asian, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Pacifican) to the conference. There will be a facilitated process to assist our prayer planning and bridge building within our Black Catholic world community. The PARCCC and NBCCC have already registered three representatives of Brazil who will be coming for the conference. These representatives include a bishop and two priests.
The registration fee for the conference is $75.00 for priests, brothers and deacons. The fee for seminarians and priest-students is $50. The deadline for registration is August 15. Add an additional $30 for late registration; $15 for students.
The Registration, Housing and Meal Plan Package.
--The single room package at Maria Center is $190.00. This room has a
shared dormitory bathroom. At this time the single rooms are limited to 21.
These rooms are on a ‘first come, first served basis.’ The fee includes
registration and the meal package.
--The double room is $160.00 with shared dormitory bath and includes the
meals as listed above.
Alternative Housing and Meal Plan
You can request a list of the other 20 nearby hotels upon registration.
The meal package for those staying off campus is $35.00. Because of the billing process, we encourage all participants who are staying off campus to pay the entire meal package. The meals included are supper on Tuesday; breakfast, lunch and supper on Wednesday, and breakfast and lunch on Thursday. There is no lunch upon arrival on Tuesday.
The deadline for registering for the PARCC Conference is August 20. If you would like to have transportation to the Congress in Chicago from the Techny Center on Thursday, the fee for the bus will be $20. Due to the need to specify the size of the bus, this fee must be paid before August 20.
