Background History

The National Black Sisters’ Conference (NBSC) is

· Black Catholic Women Religious networking to provide support through prayer, study, solidarity, and programs.

· An inclusive cooperative organization of Black Catholic Women Religious and associates promoting a positive self-image among ourselves and our people.

· A strong voice supporting women and confronting individual racism found in society and in the Church

· A group of women with vision who work increasingly for the liberation of our people.

· An important non-profit organization that speaks and acts on conditions and issues in the social, economic and educational milieu.

Convention ’98
