Facing Death and Dying

Healing Life's Hurts

Recovery from Everyday Racisms

Dying to Codependency to White Supremacy

Denial

"I don't ever admit I will die."

"I don't admit I was every hurt in life."

"I don't admit that my everyday actions reproduce and support White supremacy."

Anger

"I blame others for letting death hurt and destroy me."

"I blame others for hurting and destroying me."

"I strike out at others who identifies my internalization of White supremacy and/or I strike out at others who make me a victim of their White supremacist beliefs."

Bargaining

"I set up conditions to be fulfilled before I'm ready to die."

"I set up conditions to be fulfilled before I'm ready to forgive."

"I try to fulfill conditions that will give me the personal and social respectability that I do not feel is available to me as I am. I constantly search for the secrets of success that will give me Self-esteem."

Depression

"I blame myself for letting death destroy me."

"I blame myself for letting hurt destroy me."

An inward focused anger represents my powerlessness to make a difference to affect white supremacy. This Depression can be masked by a hysterical schedule of activities to disguise powerlessness.

Acceptance

"I look forward to dying."

"I look forward to growth from my hurt."

"I accept the responsibility of my own recovery. I must seek a way to recover my sanity through reflection, dialogue and behavior."
