The Catholic African World Network (CAWN) was established in 1990 to provide communications services for the 200 million Catholics of African descent throughout the world. This project began with collaboration with Bishop James Odongo, the Chairman of the Social Communication Committee for East Africa and Fr. Clarence Williams, CPPS of the United States based, Black Catholic Televangelization Network. The major projects have been in the area of television projects and encouragement and cultural exchange in building a Pan-African awareness in the global Black Catholic community.
The history of building CAWN has included meetings in East Africa with Directors of Communications from the following countries: Sudan, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. This history also includes the production of television documentaries that are being shared through the Pan-African world of Catholicism. the following television documentary have been produced by CAWN:
