Goals of the B4

Some of the goals for the movement are:

  1. To establish a yearly commemoration promoting dialogue between the Black and Hispanics\Latinos communities such as celebrating the first week in November as "Building Bridges between Blacks and Hispanics\Latinos". In the religious context, Roman Catholics can celebrate each year the feast of St. Martin de Porres, a famous saint of African and Hispanic/Latino origin. We hope to be a catalyst for an on-going annual expression of "bridge building" in every community in this country where there are Blacks and Hispanics\Latinos.
  1. Regional Conferences are promoted to spread the vision of "bridge building" throughout the nation.
  1. A program for the certification of leaders who wish to work in the area of "bridge building." The first national certification training will take place in November 1998 in Detroit, and the second will take place in 1999 in San Antonio, Texas. Certification in Building Bridges.
